This building was originally built without a permit as an Agricultural Building, then a past owner added a finished space on one end of the barn without a permit as well. The new owner has been working with me for the past several months producing as close to As-Built Drawings as possible which included exploratory excavation work around the foundation and mono slab. We have now been provided both plans and pictures, and can approve the permit to be issued retroactively for the construction of the barn and hobby office.

Building Official Todd Carr is working with the applicant to label the use areas in the structure (e.g. where is the office, bathroom, etc) and get a site plan uploaded, so I am noting that here, but it should be taken care of in the next day or two and is not being called out as its own correction. CORRECTION ITEM - it is Planning's understanding that the bathroom in this office will be kept. This will require a Plumbing Agreement to be recorded before this permit can be signed. Please reach out to Planning (mfitz@co.routt.co.us) to begin a plumbing agreement and upload the recorded agreement to this permit to resolve this correction (once it is recorded). This permit CANNOT be signed until that agreement is recorded.
Conversion of illegal dwelling unit in an unpermitted ag building to a permitted barn with accessory office space. Conversion is generally acceptable, but a plumbing agreement will be needed. See Corrections for details.
